The Lakota Language Consortium (LLC) supports revitalizing and preserving Lakȟótiyapi—the Lakota language. Its mission is to work to increase the total number of new speakers and provide resources which promote the use of the Lakota language in everyday life. LLC develops learning language materials and trains teachers to share language in Lakota communities. Since 2004, the nonprofit’s educational materials have assisted more than 20,000 students in learning the Lakota language.
